ASSA ABLOY has joined the Circularity Development Program, a 12-month long collaborative effort aimed at accelerating the implementation of circular products in the building sector to help our customers achieve their sustainability targets.
The Circularity Development Program was initiated by the Swedish real estate company Vasakronan, whose ambition is to only invest in 'reused, recycled or renewable products and materials by 2030. The program is set to speed up circularity development among the participating companies by providing a forum for collaboration and recommending practical tools and methods.
Besides ASSA ABLOY, it includes several industry leaders, such as KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry and Swegon, supplier of indoor ventilation systems. Combient Pure, an initiative connecting companies to create impactful low carbon and circular business opportunities, is the driver behind the program.
"This program gives us an opportunity to conduct in-depth research on a number of important issues, such as testing the safety level of products made with reused and recycled materials,” says Zeljka Svensson, VP and Head of Global Innovation Management. “And we have the benefit of working directly with our customers and taking real-time feedback as we move forward with the program."
The participants will cover six major topics in circularity according to Combient Pure: understanding the customer, effect measurement, dismantling and reverse logistics, product life extension, circular procurement, and aligning internal processes.
"We participate in this program to contribute to the development of circular business models. It is important for us to be on this sustainability journey together with our customers."
